Part A: Image Guidelines
Part B: How to Resize an Image
Part A: Image Guidelines
1. When creating an own post, the recommended guidelines for the image are as follows:
- Use an aspect ratio of 1.91:1.
- 1200 x 628-pixel images are ideal.
2. To see how many pixels are in your image, download the image you want to use.
3. Then open your downloads, and select the image you want.
4. Click on "Details" and then "Images." Click on that to see the image's pixel dimensions.
Make SURE the width is greater than the height. The example in the screenshot above would NOT be an acceptable photo since the width (488) is less than the height (600).
5. The dimensions do not have to be exact. The image should be about 2x as long as it is wide. This means you can only use images in portrait mode.
6. Examples of appropriate and inappropriate photos
General rule:
landscape rectangular photos that are CLEARLY wider than they are tall = okay
squares, almost squares, and portrait rectangular photos = not okay
