How to add video to a post from the front end of RFS (Own Post)
RFS video-type Own Posts support links from:
- YouTube
- Vimeo
- Native video from Twitter
However, you can still add videos to your posts even if the URL is not from any of these sources. This guide below will show how to create Own Posts using links from one of the sources above, as well as how to upload a video post from a third-party URL and how to upload native video into the RFS system.
Upload Video Using Supported Link:
(YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, or Twitter video URL)
1. Login to https://readyforsocial.com/ and click "Own Post" at the top of the page.

2. Click "Create Post."

3. In "Post Type," select "Video." A field will appear where you can paste your video URL.
4. Once you have pasted the video URL below "URL of the video you wish to share," add the title and social copy as per usual.
5. After you create the post, RFS will automatically pull the video for the post.

Upload Video Using 3rd-Party Link:
(Not a supported URL--i.e. RFS will not automatically pull an image from the URL)
Note: You can create a Video-Type post with third party URL, but in that case you will not be able to upload an image and a default image will be shown.
1. Login to https://readyforsocial.com/ and click "Own Post" at the top of the page.

2. Click "Create Post."

2. Create an Image-type post. Enter your video URL in the top field and then select "Image" under "Post Type." You can either take a screenshot of the video to add as an image, or add any image of your choice.

After you click "Create," the post will display the image you have chosen. Viewers will be able to access the linked video as per usual, but the video will not be directly linked to the post.

Upload Video Directly into RFS:
1. Login to https://readyforsocial.com/ and click "Own Post" at the top of the page.

2. Click "Create Post."

3. Under "Post Type," select "Video." Then go down to "Video File" and select "Choose File."

4. From here, you can directly upload a video file into the RFS system. RFS should have no issue pulling an image from this file.
5. If you run into issues uploading a video, try the steps listed here to fix it.
Note: Videos uploaded in this method must not exceed 100 MB
Adding a YouTube Video:
While adding a YouTube with a link, the Video and a Thumb Image will be previewed immediately. To add a video this way, copy the URL from YouTube and paste it in the Video Embed Code box.
You can also edit/change the video by editing the link. Simply, copy the new URL and past in the Embed Video Code box.

You should verify the video and the thumb image are correctly aligned or not.
Important note:
If you change the video, the preview of video and thumb image should be updated accordingly. If there is a default thumb image or a blank one, it means the link or video is not aligned correctly. You need the change or edit the link to make it perfect.
