How to Set Up AutoPilot

AutoPilot is a way to keep you active on social media. You can choose the social networks, focus categories, and/or tags and language of your posts and AutoPilot will propose the optimal content for you. But you stay in charge.

  1. Sign into Ready For Social (on the front end) as you usually do.
  2. In the top of the Dashboard, move the AutoPilot toggle from red to green to activate AutoPilot. You will be asked if you are sure you want to enable AutoPilot – click “OK.”

3. You will be redirected to a page titled "Configure AutoPilot." AutoPilot will be scheduled for Monday through Friday. (If you want to post content on the weekend, you will need to schedule it manually).

4. Choose the social media networks you want to utilize by clicking on the appropriate social media symbol. The symbol will appear in color when it is activated.

5. To select categories of content you want each week, click on the drop-down symbol and choose the appropriate category. (Note: You can also refine your content with "Tags" if your domain has them turned on). For each category you choose, select the number of posts desired for that category each week and the language of the posts. Repeat for each category you would like to utilize.

Note: AutoPilot runs (sets up content) every Sunday night/Monday at 3-hour intervals. That means that it will run at 3:05 a.m., 6:05 a.m., 9:05 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 3:05 p.m., and 6:05 p.m. EST.

7. At any time, you can reconfigure your AutoPilot by clicking on "Configure AutoPilot" next to your profile images, or you can turn it off by selecting the AutoPilot switch.  Changes will be reflected on the next run of AutoPilot.

8. To see an overview of what AutoPilot will be posting for you over the coming week, go to the "Calendar" tab.

9. On the calendar, you will be able to see the time, date, and network for which each post is scheduled.

10. Every Monday morning, you will receive an email from info@readyforsocial.com with a summary of the posts you have scheduled to go out in the coming week. The email will include the title, image, and social copy for the post, as well as which social sites the post is scheduled to go out on.
