How to use the new Facebook Feature on the frontend

Sharing content to Facebook through Ready For Social is easy, but there are a few important things you need to follow to make sure everything goes smoothly and looks professional once published.

Start by logging into your Ready For Social account. Once you’re on the home page, go to the “Post Listing” section, where you can browse through the available content curated for you. Find the post you'd like to share on Facebook. Please make sure, your Facebook account is connected to the Ready For Social Account.

Before selecting the post, make sure Facebook is open in a separate browser window or tab. This step is strongly recommended to avoid any technical issues during the sharing process. Facebook sometimes blocks pop-up windows or requires active sessions for the share window to work correctly, so having it open in advance helps prevent glitches.

Once you’ve identified the post you want to share, click the checkbox next to Facebook to choose it as your target network. Then click the “Share” button.

This will open a new Facebook window with a preview of how the post will appear on your timeline or page. If you don’t see the pop-up window, double-check that your browser allows pop-ups and that Facebook is still open in the other tab or window.

At this point, you’ll need to manually publish the post, because Ready For Social does not currently allow scheduling Facebook posts. The platform only supports immediate sharing to Facebook. As Lisa Davidson pointed out in a team discussion, the Facebook share button opens a new window where you can edit the copy and see how the post will look before publishing.

If the image from the article doesn’t appear in the Ready For Social preview, don’t worry. Facebook often automatically pulls the image from the article once you paste the link or hit share. In testing, it has worked consistently, even when the Ready For Social preview didn't display the image. If needed, you can use a stock image or another relevant visual from your library.

Finally, you can copy and paste the suggested post copy from Ready For Social into the Facebook post editor in the pop-up. Make any adjustments you'd like, then publish it directly.

By following these steps, and especially by keeping Facebook open in another window, you can avoid technical snags and ensure your Facebook posts are shared successfully from Ready For Social.
