Notes
- Content and value are your best bets. Content is the most important factor really. Ask yourself: “Does the post add value to your network?“ Value could be for instance:
- What do you find the most interesting aspect of the article you are sharing?
- What is your own experience with this topic?
- What top 3 challenges do you see with regards to this topic?
- Ask a question to your network. - Ideally, include a call to action if it makes sense - but don’t be too sales-y!
- Be authentic: Use your own tone of voice.
- Posts can sometimes also involve some humor (but please remember: LinkedIn is not Facebook) or be ‘lighter’ topics, like New Work, Agile, Leadership, Sustainability, etc.
- Start with something interesting/catchy. Stay brief and to the point.
- Format & structure: Give your post some structure, like a ‘headline’ and paragraphs. Vary the look & feel of your posts.
- #Hashtags: around 3 hashtags are ideal for LinkedIn, 1-2 for Twitter. Specific is better.
- @Mention people or corporate accounts – but do this wisely.
- Use a good picture.
- You can use emojis (if you like, but please don’t overuse) – in app or in browser. You can also use them as bullet points for structure:
✅ first point
✅ second point
